Child and adult NICE-complaint assessments you can trust that are also accepted by services (NHS, local authorities, schools and universities)
Arranging an assessment to find out if you or a loved one may be autistic and/or have ADHD can be a daunting process. Dr Duncan Harris leads all assessments and does all he can to ensure a positive experience. We offer assessments for:
-
Autism
-
ADHD
-
Combined Autism and ADHD
-
Pathological Demand Avoidance Profile
Assessments follow important clinical best practice guidelines whilst also having a flexible approach when needed. This means that every person who seeks an assessment can be confident that they have been well understood by their assessment team. The individual ways people cope with stress and manage the impact of any areas of difference and difficulty are also assessed. As such, people can move forwards after an assessment knowing more about themselves and the supports that can help increase their sense of self-worth and wellbeing.

DH Psychology is often used by diagnostic services to provide second opinions when there has been any doubt in people's initial assessments. Dr Duncan Harris also provides guidance and supervision to lead clinicians in the NHS, private sector and family court setting as he has developed a reputation for providing comprehensive and individualised assessments for neurodivergent children, young people and adults.

Being a small team of committed and experienced clinicians (all have over 10 years post-qualification experience) means we ensure a high-quality assessment experience whilst also offering value for money. Assessments are competitively priced. We appreciate that it is still a lot of money, so we are able to offer payment plans to aid affordability (such as splitting the cost over three to six monthly payments).

Assessment consists of 1) completing background questionnaires, 2) arranging appointments with the person and a parent/caregiver/partner (when needed and appropriate), 3) liaison with schools and colleges (child and young person assessment), 4) a comprehensive written report outlining the diagnostic outcome and personal profile of strengths and needs, and 5) a feedback session to discuss the assessment and any questions.

We are particularly skilled in offering assessment formats that feel manageable and comfortable for people, for example, we can use written reflections, emails, messages, telephone calls, video calls, face-to-face meetings to complete your assessment to a high standard whilst also not causing unneccesary stress to you.

Assessments can be booked within a matter of days and are typically completed within 8 weeks from them starting. We can arrange video and face-to-face meetings, using NHS and private clinics near to you.
Post assessment support is included in a follow up meeting. Additional support sessions can also be purchased with us should you want this.

For those who receive an ADHD diagnosis with DH Psychology, we have an established referral relationship with a private mental health clinic called Malvern Hills Private Practice (MHPP). They offer a remote ADHD Medication Service for clients aged 11 years and above. This can be accessed by sharing your DH Psychology diagnostic report with them to show that your assessment was undertaken by a Psychologist on the Partnership Pathway.
